- I imagine my day to be...
- Felt like the week was conquered by Wednesday so no wonder yesterday felt like Friday. And today #lazy Saturday. As much as I get frustrated at JOKR for the lack of high bar at things, I love it that I can cancel meetings, when I want, how I want :). Just cleared my entire day. I am not super happy about it to be honest. I want others to work hard and do the right thing. IS there a reason I believe they are not? Hm.. the sloppiness. Lack of professionalism. Is that an objective opinion though sid?

- Algo/Bubble Sort ✅

  - wrote the while loop version in under 4 minutes.
  - Now, come to think bubble sort. The magic here is that
		  a) algorithm terminate
		  b) time complexity is O(n^2) worst case

		  Both of these are not obvious. I could have derived it by pure programming.
  - Also there two optimizations
		  1. short circuit when there are now swap in the iteration
		  2. reduce the loop size by 1 each iteration as each iteration we have the greatest number in n-ith position. This doesn't affect time complexity analysis.
  - This algo is then the right vehicle into Computer Theory.
  - The OG algorithm.
- Algo/Insertion Sort ✅
  - ah damn! no idea lol. let's time this 1:17 start
  - Theory
  - Insertion sort is **a sorting algorithm that places an unsorted element at its suitable place in each iteration**.
  - Insertion sort works similarly as we sort cards in our hand in a card game. We assume that the first card is already sorted then, we select an unsorted card.
  - well the question is how does it terminate?
  - maybe each iteration you get one number. So guaranteed to run O(n^2) times.
  - doing the array manipulation in place is what makes the coding interesting and a puzzle to solve
  - 20 mins thinking - Fuck this is hard. These algos are you GOT to know. It took years from it come out from great scientists so come on bro. There are original ideas.
  - I have come to appreciate sorting algorithms. There are truly #Original Ideas
  - Boom. Wrote it. At 13 mins remaining. About an hour spent.
  - Well. I should have used swap instead of shifting via insertion point
  - Did the second solution in 5 mins.
  - That's **entire 1h 17 min on this algo**. Love the insertion sort solution one you have it. Simple an elegant. Damn!
  - ```typescript
			  export function insertionSort(array: number[]) {
			    // Write your code here.
			    for (let i=0; i=0) { // 1 4 5 3; 1 4 3 5
			        // swap
			        const temp = array[j];
			        array[j] = array[j+1];
			        array[j+1] = temp;
			        j--;
			      }
			    }
			    return array;
			  }

			  ```
- @Megha Verma How Neo-Classicism Gave Birth to Leftism
  - ![image.png](../assets/image_1660253727157_0.png){:height 599, :width 728}
  - This painting by David depicts a story from the first book of Livy in Roman Antiquities by Dionysius of Halicarnassus. In this story, there are two waring cities: Rome and Alba. Instead of the entire city going to war, each city agrees to choose three men to defend the city in a duel to the death. The city with the victorious fighter would win the war. Rome sends three brothers from the Horatii family, and Alba sends three brothers from the Curiatii family. Unfortunately, the families have already intermarried. A Horatii brother has a Curiatii wife and a Curiatii brother has a Horatii wife. As a result, no matter the outcome of the fight, there will be tragedy for the family. David depicts the juxtaposition of the masculine and the feminine responses to the sacrifices of war in the composition of the characters in his painting.
  - This depiction of the women denigrates their emotions and casts them as something weak to be overcome, rather than an important fact to be considered. The woman are weighed down by their love for their husbands and are a liability in this story. Herein lies the flaw of the nineteenth century enlightenment that returns, transformed and perverted, into what we know today to be Leftism.
  - Post-modernist thinking is the direct schizophrenic outcome of the perverted emotions and feelings crawling back out of humanity’s psyche with a vengeance. Where once there was only one *objective *truth that ignored subjectivity and intuition completely, there are now billions of “truths” as each claims his own version of reality is equal to everyone else’s.
  - David himself reveals how the philosophy of his era is imbalanced and therefore incomplete. The masculine and the feminine must complete each other, as do reason and intuition. Neither is more important than the other, and neither is more valuable. Yet enlightenment (neo-classical) art paints the feminine and the emotional as less important. Today, the opposite extreme occurs in art where the masculine is diminished and the scientific method is not only overturned but it is largely ignored. This too is not healthy.
  - Art cannot lie and often reveals truths of which the artist himself was not consciously aware. *The Oath of the Horatii *is a masterful painting that is true art because it is *of its time. *It preserves the issues of the enlightenment and it would be foolish of us not to take heed from its warning. When we pursue extremes, we reject reality and what we rejected may not take it so lightly.
- Late start but good day. Love my day plan template and overall system. It’s keeping me engaged, driven and productive against the up and downs. #systemvsgoals
- Daily 5 and everyday kaizen have beautifully manifested in my day plan.
- I have 13 active projects. I think it’s remarkable. I many have loaded as such before but I hardly feel overwhelmed. Moreover the progress being made on each is hyper productive. So thrilled.
- This is month 3 of GTD. I am excited to reflect on it in 6 month. Actually end of this year. Would be 7 month and yearly review. The compounding. Come to think of it the projects might compound too. this is a start of productive civilization.
