- Because inquiring into these questions—From where is all this being seen? With what identity am I looking? Who am I, the perceiver?—is the most important step we can take toward that inner recognition of our formless nature. - And if you don’t clarify and confirm your true position as the formless ultimate seer, you will continue to identify with the phenomenal experiencer, the ego. - Then some thought, memory, or event will inevitably come along and grab your attention. You will again feel thrown off balance and find yourself sliding into the familiar yet unstable state of personhood. In so falling, you will have missed the opportunity to notice that even memory is phenomenal.
